This is very funny. But just remember that not all pastors of large churches are like this guy. You can never paint everyone with one stroke. Our church is growing by leaps and bounds and would be considered a mega-church by many. But my pastor does not compromise the gospel and challenges us both publicly and privately to live lives of obedience to God's Word.
I agree that not all pastors of large churches are like the parody.
John MacArthur's church is around 5,000 and I don't know of too many people who are as committed to the truth and the gospel as he is. As Shari said there are many more as well.
Although, I will tell you that it is probably more of the exception than the rule.
I'm not sure about a talk show. I have a face for radio, so t.v. would be out of the question. I don't talk that much, which would probably be good for ratings. Although, I probably come off like the McLaughlin group guy in print, I would be like the comedian Stephen Wright in person.
As a public disclosure, my scripture quoting in blogs is very much aided in bible search software. I'm good at memorizing a few key words from a verse and general context and look it up to get the whole verse. I am horrible at quoting whole verses without missing part of it.
I like you, Todd. I know some people don't know how to take you. But you have a great sense of humor. And I know that even if we may not fully agree on every single issue, there is a common desire for uncompromised truth that motivates each of us to hold to our strong convictions. You have inspired me even at times when I thought you were extreme. Always better to be hot or cold than lukewarm about God. Hot is best, of course.
Thank you Shari. Since I have been saved in the past 5 years, I have been extreme often, sometimes in the flesh and sometimes in the Spirit. Thankfully my Heavenly Father loves me to correct me and lead me to repentance.
However, I really have no desire to not be "extreme" or "hot", just as long as it is after Jesus and not me in the flesh.
I also recognize that you also desire Truth and that we only have as a gift from God.

They didn't even skim the surface of reality in the parody......
Where were the clowns on unicycles and the tram that shuttles you from the parking lot and the souvenier/gift shop?
Visit the site below if you want to see the reality of consumerism absurdity.

todd and shari should start a talk show.
Now THAT sounds like a fun idea! Except Todd would destroy me in the area of scripture memorization! And I do mean DESTROY ME!
